BAE SYSTEMS HARRIER GR.7 / GR.9
REFERENCE INFORMATION

VTOL/STOL SYSTEM

The Harrier GR.7 and GR.9 aircraft both feature the latest in VTOL/STOL programming
to allow users the ability to fly STOL and VTOL maneuvers down to under 10knts.
The VTOL/STOL System is automatically activated upon engaging the nozzle rotation to a
downward position and when activated will automatically trim the aircraft for a level flight position.
During this time, users will be unable to trim the elevators and will only have basic elevator control.

It is highly recommended that then the VTOL/STOL system is activated, users control the descent
rate and aircraft pitch with the throttle control only and use the stick for maintaining level flight.
